Hydroxyapatite HAp
is a non-toxic, biocompatible mineral that already occurs naturally in our bodies. In fact, this mineral makes up around 97% of the tooth surface.
Hydroxyapatite was developed in 1970 by the 𝐍𝐀𝐒𝐀 and used to remineralize the teeth and bones of astronauts returning from weightlessness. The results were astonishing🌟, and so the Japanese company Sangi Co. LTD began producing the first commercial toothpaste with hydroxyapatite. Since then, the ingredient has enjoyed great popularity, competing with an ingredient that became famous almost eight decades earlier. Hydroxyapatite repairs and remineralizes tooth enamel with calcium and phosphorus, making teeth harder and stronger and brightening and smoothing the tooth surface.
Multifunctional minerals calcium carbonate, hydrated silica
are pure, natural ingredients with multifunctional benefits. Thanks to their round shape, the mineral plaster particles have an extra-gentle plastering effect and remove plaque and discoloration particularly gently, while the abrasion value remains low. We use the highest quality ultra-fine silica produced in the UK. Hydrated silica is a derivative of silica, a natural material that makes up 12% of the earth's surface. Fruit extracts bromelain and papain
Bromelain is obtained from the stem, leaves and peel of the pineapple. Papain is obtained from the still greenish skin and seeds of the papaya fruit. The protease contained in the fruit is able to break down proteins. The unique combination of these enzymes dissolves the plaque proteins from the tooth surface and thus prevents the formation of new discoloration. Bromelain has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, among others. It is a natural antioxidant and, according to studies, can protect the tooth from oxidative attacks by peroxides, which can have a negative effect on dental fillings.
Finnish birch sugar
Our xylitol is obtained from the nutrient-rich fibers of birch and beech bark. But not directly. Our xylitol manufacturer works with a paper mill in Finland, which produces hemicellulose as a by-product. Only the cellulose is needed for paper production; the hemicellulose and lignin from the wood are normally burned to recover heat. This is where our xylitol manufacturer comes in, buying the hemicellulose and producing xylitol from it. This means that our xylitol is obtained in a very resource-friendly way and not a single tree has to be felled for it. The wood itself comes from sustainably managed forests in Europe.
